These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Khatim, available at khatim.us. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Khatim.
The service
Khatim is a group Qur'an reading (khatm) tracker. Groups divide the Qur'an into pages and juz so members can claim pages, mark them read, and follow the group's progress together.
Your account
- You must provide accurate information and keep your account secure.
- You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
- You must be old enough to consent to these Terms in your jurisdiction (at least 13, and older where local law requires).
Groups and roles
Anyone can create a group and becomes its owner. Group owners can manage their group's schedule and members, assign or reopen pages, and remove members or delete the group. Deleting a group removes its schedule and page claims for everyone in it, and cannot be undone.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Khatim for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the app, its accounts, or its infrastructure.
- Misuse other members' information, impersonate others, or claim or interfere with pages in bad faith.
- Upload or transmit malicious code, or scrape the service in bulk.
Content and intellectual property
The Qur'anic text, translations, and scanned mushaf images shown in the app are provided from third-party sources for reading convenience, and remain the property of their respective owners. The Khatim name and the app's own design and code are owned by the operator. You may not copy or redistribute them except as allowed by law.
Third-party services
Khatim relies on third parties such as Supabase, Vercel, and (if you use it) Google sign-in, and loads mushaf images from an external source. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.
Disclaimers
Khatim is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that the religious text and translations shown are complete or free of error; please consult an authoritative printed mushaf for matters of accuracy.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Khatim and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the service.
Termination
You may stop using Khatim and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access that violates these Terms or that could harm the service or other users.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above, and your continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
